Ohmite Manufacturing Company, founded in 1925 by David T. Siegel in Chicago, is a premier provider of resistive products for high current, high voltage, and high energy applications. Over its 95-year history, Ohmite has continuously evolved its resistor offerings, including wirewound, wire element, thick film, and ceramic composition resistors.
Since its early days in Chicago, Ohmite has expanded significantly. In 1953, the company relocated to Skokie, Illinois, and has since grown through strategic acquisitions like Memcor-Truohm and Ward Leonard Resistors in 1996, and Victoreen Components in 1999, enhancing its capabilities in Thick Film technology.
Acquired by Heico Companies LLC in 1998, Ohmite's headquarters remain in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, while operations are based in Matamoros, Mexico. Serving diverse industries globally, including industrial, medical, military, and aerospace sectors, Ohmite continues to innovate and offer reliable resistor solutions through a network of international distributors and sales representatives.
