Founded in 1973 by Brian Ainley, MARL International Ltd. derives its name from the distinctive grey rock, "marl," found across the UK. Originally a medical equipment manufacturer, MARL transitioned to LED design and manufacturing in the late 1970s, foreseeing the potential of LEDs as low-power lighting solutions.
