Hummel

HUMMEL AG traces its origins back to 1948 when Holger Hummel's grandfather founded "Anton Hummel Metallwarenfabrik" in Alt-Simonswald. By 1952, the company relocated to Waldkirch and initially focused on producing molded turned parts essential for post-war Germany, such as combination locks, cigarette lighters, and pasta machines. The economic boom of the 1950s saw HUMMEL achieving a significant milestone of 1 million D-Mark in turnover by 1958.

Helmut Hummel joined the company in 1966, ushering in a new era of innovation and growth. Significant achievements during this period included the launch of plastic production in 1972, the patent registration of the rotating vent valve in 1976, and the investment in fully automated galvanics in 1987. A landmark moment came in 1971 with the patent registration of a packing gland connection, marking HUMMEL as a leader in electro-technical connections.

To accommodate its growing operations, HUMMEL built a logistics center in Denzlingen in 1994. The company ventured into producing M23 round plug connectors in 1999, further solidifying its market position. Embracing globalization at the turn of the century, HUMMEL expanded its presence with subsidiaries and sales branches in China, Brazil, Italy, England, India, France, Poland, and South Korea. Today, HUMMEL AG continues to stand for innovative electro-technical connection solutions worldwide.
