Vietnam is positioning itself as a critical player in the global semiconductor supply chain, with its market projected to grow at an impressive annual rate of 6.69% from 2023 to 2028, reaching a valuation of $7.01 billion by 2028. Recognizing this growth trajectory, the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2024 (SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024) will make its debut in November, showcasing the sector's increasing importance as the foundation of advanced electronics manufacturing.
Organized by the National Innovation Center (NIC) in partnership with SEMI, the event aims to bolster Vietnam's semiconductor ecosystem under the theme "Elevating Vietnam in the Global Semiconductor Supply Chain." SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 will serve as a convergence point for international corporations and domestic enterprises to explore strategies for deeper integration into global production networks. The exhibition will also highlight investment opportunities, positioning Vietnam as an attractive hub for semiconductor manufacturing and innovation.
In addition to business collaboration, workforce development will take center stage. The event will connect students with scholarships and career opportunities in the semiconductor sector, addressing the industry's critical talent needs. NIC Director Vu Quoc Huy expressed optimism about attracting global technology giants to the event, emphasizing Vietnam's potential in semiconductor and electronics innovation.
Linda Tan, Chairperson of SEMI Southeast Asia, highlighted the exhibition's role in fostering strategic partnerships and collaboration, cementing Vietnam’s reputation as a promising destination for semiconductor industry players. By advancing such initiatives, Vietnam is set to elevate its standing in this high-value global industry and strengthen its role in the semiconductor supply chain.
SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 not only reflects Vietnam's ambitions but also marks a significant step in its journey to becoming a competitive force in the global semiconductor market.
