MediaTek and Nvidia, two leading technology companies, today announced a partnership to jointly deliver a complete AI smart cockpit solution for software-defined cars. The solution will combine MediaTek's expertise in automotive SoCs with Nvidia's deep experience in AI and graphics computing.
Under the terms of the partnership, MediaTek will develop an automotive SoC that integrates Nvidia GPU chiplets. The chip will be equipped with Nvidia AI and graphics computing IP, and will support MediaTek's in-house interconnection technology. This will enable smooth and high-speed interconnection between chips, which is critical for delivering a high-performance and immersive smart cockpit experience.
In addition, MediaTek's smart cockpit solution will run Nvidia DRIVE OS, DRIVE IX, CUDA and TensorRT software technologies. DRIVE OS is a comprehensive software platform for building and deploying autonomous driving applications, while DRIVE IX is a suite of software tools for developing and deploying AI-based driver assistance features. CUDA and TensorRT are high-performance computing libraries for accelerating AI and graphics workloads.
The partnership between MediaTek and Nvidia will help automakers to accelerate the development and deployment of software-defined cars. The solution will provide automakers with a complete, turnkey platform for building smart cockpits that offer a high-performance, immersive and personalized driving experience.
"We are excited to partner with Nvidia to deliver a complete AI smart cockpit solution for software-defined cars," said Rick Tsai, President of MediaTek's Intelligent Multimedia Business Group. "This partnership will enable automakers to quickly and easily develop and deploy smart cockpits that offer a truly differentiated driving experience."
"We are delighted to partner with MediaTek to bring the power of AI to the automotive industry," said Jen-Hsun Huang, Founder and CEO of Nvidia. "This partnership will enable automakers to deliver safe, personalized and immersive experiences to their customers."
The partnership between MediaTek and Nvidia is a significant development in the automotive industry. The solution will help automakers to accelerate the development and deployment of software-defined cars, which are expected to become increasingly popular in the coming years.
