Malaysia's MAB Engineering Expands Subang Airport MRO Capacity

Published: 9.12.2023

MAB Engineering, the MRO arm of Malaysia Airlines, is set to lease a second hangar at Subang Airport, a significant move to enhance its maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities.

The agreement with Impeccable Vintage Properties (IVP) will result in a refurbished hangar with up to five maintenance lines, catering to turboprops, narrowbody, and widebody aircraft. While the timeline for completion is undisclosed, this expansion complements MAB Engineering's existing facilities at Subang Airport and two other hangars at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

This strategic expansion aligns with Malaysia's vision to transform Subang airport into a hub for commercial jet operations. MAB Engineering's commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency underscores its dedication to meeting the rising demand for MRO services, not only in Malaysia but also in the broader regional aviation industry.

As MAB Engineering invests in its MRO capabilities, it is poised to play a vital role in Malaysia's aviation sector's growth and development, contributing to the industry's resilience and sustainability.
