Five major semiconductor companies—Robert Bosch, Infineon, Nordic Semiconductor, NXP, and Qualcomm—have joined forces to establish Quintauris, aimed at advancing the development and commercialization of RISC-V-based hardware.

RISC-V is an open-source instruction set architecture (ISA) that offers a more flexible and customizable alternative to traditional closed architectures. By leveraging RISC-V, Quintauris aims to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving demands of various industries, including automotive, mobile, and IoT.

One of the key objectives of Quintauris is to develop and provide reference architectures that enable the seamless integration of RISC-V-based hardware into a wide range of applications to drive greater standardization and interoperability across different industries.

The automotive sector is set to be an initial focus for Quintaurisleveraging the collective expertise of its founding companies to deli ver cutting-edge solutions for next-generation vehicles. However, the company has ambitious plans to expand its reach into the mobile and IoT segments, offering a comprehensive portfolio of RISC-V-based products and services.

As Quintauris embarks on this groundbreaking journey, all eyes will be on how the company uses its unique position to deliver value to its customers and drive the broader adoption of RISC-V technology. With its founding companies at the helm, Quintauris is well-positioned to lead the charge toward a more open, collaborative, and innovative future for the semiconductor industry.
