China Smartphone Shipments Increased by 28.3% YoY in July

According to the latest China mobile phone market statistics released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology in July 2024, China’s smartphone market is experiencing a strong recovery with smartphone shipments reaching 22.174 million units, an increase of 28.3% from last year. This not only demonstrates the recovery of consumer demand, but also reflects that the mobile phone industry is gradually getting rid of the impact of the epidemic and entering a steady growth track.
5G smartphones continue to lead the market, with shipments reaching 20.654 million units in July, a remarkable 37.2% increase YoY. This far outpaces the overall smartphone market growth, underscoring 5G's vital role in driving industry advancements and stimulating market vitality.
China's domestic mobile phone market continues to show strong growth in the first seven months of 2024. Cumulative shipments reached 171 million units (up 15.3% year-over-year) for all mobile phones and 161 million units (up 13.7% year-over-year) for smartphones. This positive trend reflects a recovering domestic economy and growing demand for higher-quality products, setting the stage for future industry development.
