China PC Market Outlook in 2024

Due to the deepening of digitalization and increased penetration rates, the tablet computer market is poised for growth, with an anticipated 4% increase in both 2024 and 2025.

According to Canalys, the Chinese PC market is expected to grow by 3% in 2024 and accelerate to 10% in 2025. Concurrently, the tablet market is forecasted to expand by 4% annually over the same period.

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the PC market (excluding tablets) in Chinese Mainland experienced a decline, with shipments totaling 11.3 million units, down 9% year-on-year. Desktop computers saw a 13% decrease in shipments, totaling 3.3 million units, while laptops declined by 7%, totaling 8.1 million units. Consequently, the total shipment volume for 2023 amounted to 41.2 million units, reflecting a 17% year-on-year decrease.

In the tablet market, the fourth quarter of 2023 saw a 3% decline, with shipments totaling 8.4 million units. For the entire year of 2023, total tablet shipments reached 28.3 million units. With new players increasingly focusing on this category, competition is expected to intensify in 2024.
