Established in 1994 and headquartered in Carson City, Nevada, Ametherm is the leading manufacturer of inrush current limiter (ICL) thermistors as well as Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistors for temperature compensation and control. Globally recognized for their superior thermistor engineering and temperature control solutions, Ametherm is driven to providing their customers with cost effective and time saving solutions.

When looking at Ametherm’s extensive product list, it is important to note that there are two types of thermistors: Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) and Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC). While NTC Thermistors are typically used for temperature sensing purposes, on the contrary PTC Thermistors are used to control the electric current.

Through innovative design and quality practices, Ametherm’s thermistors are applied towards temperature compensation, voltage regulations, circuit protection, time delay, and volume control. In fact, other thermistor applications are widespread in the medical (power supplies, MRI), industrial, automotive (1/3 HP to 3.0 HP range), HVAC., and aerospace industries, making Ametherm thermistors valuable to customers across the globe no matter their solution needs. A further look at some of Ametherm’s most popular products and their applications can be observed below:

Ametherm SURGE-GARD

Manufactured with metal oxide ceramic materials, Ametherm’s SURGE-GARD Inrush Current Limiter devices are designed to suppress high inrush current surges. These inrush current limiters are especially useful in power supplies and in cases when low a low impedance of the charging capacitor exposes the diode bridge rectifier to an incredibly high current stage at turn-on.

Ametherm NTC Disc Thermistors

Thermally sensitive semiconductor resistive devices that decrease in resistance as absolute temperature rises, Ametherm’s NTC Disc Thermistors typically have resistance values that range from 1.0Ω to 500KΩ. With the use of this product, these NTC Thermistors are designed to a large scope of resistance values and temperature coefficients. Ametherm’s NTC Thermistors have a wide range of applications from temperature compensation, temperature measurement, fan motor control, and temperature sensors.

Features:

  • Wide Ohmic Value Range
  • Accurate & Stable
  • Fast Thermal Response Time
  • Tight Tolerances
  • High Sensitivity

Applications:

  • Temperature Compensation
  • Temperature Measurement & Control
  • Fan Motor Control
  • Fluid Level & Temperature Sensors
