Silicon Storage Technology, Inc. (SST) was a Sunnyvale, California, USA, technology company producing non-volatile memory devices and related products. SST supplies of NOR flash and other integrated circuits for high-volume applications.

In April 2010, Microchip completed the acquisition for about $292 million. Microchip’s SST Serial and Parallel Flash Memory features products with high performance, superior reliability and low power consumption.

Microchip’s SST Serial Flash offers lower pin count, less space, smaller PCBs, reduced system costs and lower power consumption. The 38 and 39 Series MPF™ (Multi-Purpose Flash) products, including MPF+ and Advanced MPF+, provide fast read and program times with features such as Erase-Suspend/Erase-Resume, Boot Block, Security ID, Hardware Reset, and heightened protection features.
